A Piece of Cleveland(“APOC,” “we,” or “us”) operates apieceofcleveland.com. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, the third-party services that help us operate, and your choices. Plain English, no surprises. When you submit an inquiry or commission request, we collect the information you enter on the form: your name, email address, phone number, and a description of the project. We use it only to respond to your inquiry, scope the project, and follow up.
We use a privacy-first analytics tool (Plausible Community Edition, self-hosted on our own server) to count page views and referral sources. Plausible does not set cookies and does not collect personal information. It records aggregate counts of page views, the page URL, the referring site (e.g. google.com), and your country derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is hashed and discarded.
When you click any link to call us or email us from the site, or start filling out the inquiry form, we record an internal event for that interaction (e.g. “call link clicked,” “form started,” “form submitted”) so we can understand which pages and offers actually generate interest. These events do not include the contents of what you type until you submit the form.
We advertise on Google. To learn which advertising brings us customers, the first time you arrive from another website, a search engine, an ad, or a link with campaign tags, our website keeps a note in this site’s storage in your browser of how you arrived: the address of the page that linked to us, the page where you arrived, any campaign tags in the link, the date and time, and, if you clicked one of our Google ads, the click identifier Google adds to that link. Visits typed in directly are not recorded, and later visits do not replace the note. It stays in your browser until you clear this site’s data. When you start or send our inquiry or commission request form, the campaign tags and linking address of that visit (or, if it has none, the stored ones) are sent with the form events to our server, which keeps a log of some of the campaign tags, and the campaign source, medium and name go to our self-hosted Plausible analytics. If you send us an inquiry, the stored details are included in the notification email we receive and saved with your inquiry. We use them only to measure our own advertising, and we do not sell them.
Our phone number is (216) 299-4860. Calls and texts to it come straight to our phone line and do not pass through CallRail.
Until October 2026 we published a CallRail number, (216) 677-9435, and some visitors who came from our Google ads were shown other CallRail tracking numbers. Calls to those numbers were routed through CallRail, which recorded the call duration, the caller’s phone number, the campaign source if applicable, and the audio of the call, then forwarded the call to us. Those numbers are being retired with our CallRail account; until it closes, calls to them are still handled this way. Past CallRail call records and recordings are kept as private business records, used only to look up earlier conversations, and are not shared publicly.
Our website no longer runs CallRail’s call-tracking script. Until October 2026 it ran on every page and sent CallRail the pages you visited and how you arrived, so that callers who came from our Google ads could be shown a tracking number and matched to the ad. If you visited before then, it may have left CallRail cookies and other site data in your browser. Our website no longer uses them, and you can delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
We do not currently send your email address or phone number to any advertising platform. If we start, we will hash them with SHA-256 before they leave our server and update this policy first. Hashing turns email addresses and phone numbers into irreversible fingerprints: a platform can match a fingerprint to a known user on its side, but never receives your raw email address or phone number from us.
Our website loads the Google tag on every page. It tells Google about visits to our site and may set Google cookies, so that Google can tell us when someone who clicked one of our ads later contacts us and can measure our ad results. We do not currently use Meta (Facebook / Instagram) advertising tools; if we start, this policy will be updated before any data is sent.
Future processors (Meta for advertising measurement) will be added to this list before they receive any data.
Our own code does not set marketing cookies. The Google tag, described above, sets its own cookies. Plausible is cookieless. The arrival note described above is kept in your browser’s storage for this site, not in a cookie. Our website also keeps a random visit number in your browser’s session storage, which your browser deletes when you close the tab, to group the events described above. You can clear or block cookies and stored site data in your browser settings; our inquiry form works either way.
You can request that we delete the inquiry information you submitted at any time by emailing info@apieceofcleveland.com. We honor deletion requests within 30 days. If you are in California or another jurisdiction with privacy rights laws (CCPA, GDPR), you can also request a copy of the personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, and opt out of any future advertising data sharing — same email address.
Our website does not currently respond to the browser “Do Not Track” setting. To limit what is kept in your browser, you can block cookies and clear or block this site’s data in your browser settings; our inquiry form works either way. If you call one of our former CallRail numbers before it is retired and do not want the call recorded, mention it at the start of the call and we will note it.
The site is intended for adults inquiring about wood and furniture commissions. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
When we change this policy in any meaningful way, we update the “Last updated” date below. We will not start sharing data with a new processor before the policy reflecting that processor is live.
